- Usage data: pages viewed, time on site, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location (e.g. country or region), and similar analytics data.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device identifiers, and information collected via cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).
We do not collect names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information through the website unless you voluntarily provide them (e.g. by emailing us). Our analytics do not intentionally identify you by name.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (including Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve our content and services.
Google Analytics may collect:
- Page views, sessions, and events (e.g. clicks, scrolls)
- Traffic sources and referral information
- Device and browser information
- Approximate geographic location (e.g. country/city)
Data collected by Google Analytics may be processed by Google in the United States and other countries. Google states that it provides appropriate safeguards for international transfers (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses). For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics and data privacy.
We configure retention in Google Analytics in line with our need for analytics and our data retention policy. You can control or opt out of Analytics via your browser settings or browser add-ons (e.g. Google’s opt-out add-on where available).
4. Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage tags on our website (including those that load Google Analytics). GTM itself does not set cookies for tracking end users; it allows us to deploy and manage other tags that may set cookies or send data to third-party services.
Depending on which tags are enabled (e.g. Analytics), GTM may cause cookies or similar technologies to be set. We review the tags we deploy to ensure they align with this Privacy Policy and our cookie disclosure. For more information, see Google Tag Manager and privacy.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies in connection with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. The following table summarises the main cookies we use for analytics and tag management:
| Cookie / technology | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga (Google Analytics) | Distinguish users | First-party | 2 years |
| _gid (Google Analytics) | Distinguish users | First-party | 24 hours |
| _gat (Google Analytics) | Throttle request rate | First-party | 1 minute |
| Google Tag Manager | Manage tags/cookies on the site | First-party | Session / as per tag |
Google Tag Manager may set additional cookies depending on which tags are enabled (e.g. Analytics). We review our tags to ensure they align with this Privacy Policy and our cookie disclosure.
You can control cookies through your browser settings (e.g. block or delete cookies). If you use a cookie banner or preference centre on our site, you can also manage your preferences there. Blocking or disabling certain cookies may affect how the site works or how we can improve it.
6. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data collected via the website on the following bases:
- Legitimate interests: To operate, secure, and improve our website and services. Our use of analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) for understanding usage and improving the site is based on our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. Where required by law (e.g. under ePrivacy/PECR), we obtain consent for non-essential cookies or analytics before they are set.
- Consent: Where we use non-essential cookies or similar technologies that require consent under UK/ePrivacy law, we will only set them after we have obtained your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time via cookie settings or your browser.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects.
7. Data sharing and international transfers
We share data with service providers who act on our instructions (processors). In particular:
- Google: Google acts as a processor (e.g. for Google Analytics and, in relation to tag deployment, Google Tag Manager). Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, adequacy decisions.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
8. Data retention
We retain analytics and usage data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. We follow our internal retention policy and use configurable retention settings in Google Analytics (e.g. 14 months or as we configure) so that data is not kept longer than needed. After the retention period, data is deleted or anonymised.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Complain to a supervisory authority: You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at legal@correcttechsolution.com. We will respond within the time required by law.
10. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. Our website is served over HTTPS. We use reputable service providers (e.g. Google) that implement industry-standard security measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where appropriate.
